MtG: WiP

Just getting this one off the ground.

This illustration is for a mock card representing a standard thief/spy archetype. I tried to convey Merfolk painting themselves up to infiltrate Elves, but I don't think it will read in this particular iteration. I'll probably give it another go with more emphasis on the ideation and thumbnail stages.

The entire Art Evolution entry post is up now over at The Art Order- featuring a whopping 126 entries! Pretty proud to say that mine is one of two Cyberpunk entries ;]

Here's a quick painting for a mock MTG card created by my friend Isaiah.

Compost Farm

Tap: add 1 (colorless)
Tap, G: Exile a creature card from a graveyard. If that creature is black, draw a card.
Tap, B: Exile a creature card from a graveyard. If that creature is green, target player loses two life and you gain two life.

Lyssa

My entry for the "Art Evolution" challenge over at The Art Order blog.

The design doc stated, simply:

A young female human wizard with black hair who always wears white trimmed in gold.

The one caveat being that the image must be themed after any major RPG. I did a few thumbs in the D&D vein (couple examples below), but settled into a more suiting Cyberpunk/Shadowrun mode. I was a Blade Runner kid, after all. Character concept was put together over a lunch break and the final illustration was done over the course of two days. Good times!
